Alec Baldwin dressed up as an American Airlines pilot and appeared on Saturday Night Live’s “Weekend Update” this past Saturday, answering the question of how he would handle last week’s incident in which he was thrown off of a flight for playing a game on his phone and refusing to turn it off. The hilarious sketch had Baldwin apologizing to himself for the incident.
“Mr. Baldwin is an American treasure, and I am ashamed at the way he was treated,” Baldwin-as-pilot explained on the show. “What harm would it do to let him keep playing his game, not any game mind you, a word game for smart people.”

Some people will do anything to make a buck… no matter who it hurts…
I am going to fly south tom orow on American Air. I hope that Captain Steve is flying my plane!
Ordinarily I’d say, what a jerk, but this is so much better than some lame apology that he doesn’t mean. If Baldwin thinks he’s entitled to do what he wants on an airplane, then at least he stuck to his guns.
In a related note: using electronics screws up the plane that you’re flying 30,000 feet in the air inside of. Unless you have wings, Alec, I’m not sure how “smart” you really are…word games notwithstanding.
