Montauk Puppy Kicker Not Going To Jail

What can I say? I don’t particularly agree with this:

The Montauk man who kicked a 6-month-old boxer pup in June because it had run out of the yard will not be serving any jail time. Daniel Vargus pleaded guilty in East Hampton Town Court on Thursday and has since been sentanced with 280 hours of community service and three years of probation.

I would have liked to see a slightly stronger sentence.

Happily, the boxer pup has been adopted since the incident, and did not suffer from any serious injuries.

The community service should be in keeping with the crime. He should have to clean the cages for local animal shelters!

  2. Ellen says:

Can’t the community service involve someone kicking him around a yard for a while? There is just no excuse for this type of behavior.

  3. Zoey says:

They should take him to ARF and let him sit in a cage for a week!
