Well, it looks like the owner of the Sag Harbor eatery, Laurent Tourondel, can breath a little easier. LT Burger has been in a legal battle over the rights to the name of BLT, in a war of the restaurant worlds.
LT Burger, which is known for their burgers and shakes, has been in a legal fight between Laurent Tourondel and former business partner Jimmy Haber over the BLT name, which stands for Bistro Laurent Tourondel. Tourondel has been able to win the BLT name, but Haber now is contending that Tourondel should not be allowed to use BLT menus and recipes in Tourondel’s restaurants. Haber, now has a new company called ESquared Hospitality and says that restaurants like LT Burger are ripping off menus and food items marketed under his company.
The food battle continues to rage on and will be heading to court to be presented in front of Federal Judge George Daniels.
