This year is more special than ever because Bella has a mission beyond her daily ocean swim. She is dedicated to the Southampton Animal Shelter and to finding homes for her friends. Last week, Bella went to the Shelter and had the opportunity to meet many cats and dogs, brothers and sisters, who need a family. They were all instant connections. It’s amazing when you meet an animal. Almost impossible to say no, and how does one say no? Tough question.
What it comes down to is a relationship between animal and friend. Can we live together? Can we develop a companionship that lasts forever? How about that connection that only one knows, as you find something or someone to love.

Bella has been a part of my life for 10+ years. She is the dog mother to our kids. She is a pride and joy that remains a constant companion to our whole family. She is always by her mother’s side, or waiting for me to wake up to head to the beach. Bella only knows love. That is why she offers it to us each day. What a gift! She is patient, devoted and is a true woman of character, kindness as well as generosity.

They are opening their home to our Honoree, Karen LeFrak. Karen has the biggest heart for animals and people.
