The Dan’s Papers 39th Annual Kite Fly has been canceled, courtesy of Hurricane Irene.
Southampton beaches were closed as of 2 p.m. Friday afternoon, forcing us to cancel the Kite Fly scheduled for Saturday, August 27, at 5:30 p.m. at Sagg Main Beach.
Although we were fully prepared to hand out prizes in new categories including Child Flown Furthest Out to Sea and Most Expensive Airborne Mansion, it appears they will have to wait until next year.
