That holiday feeling is all around the East End, and come dusk on Saturday night it will fill the air of The End as thousands of lights illuminate the dusk at the fourth annual Lighting the Lighthouse in Montuak. Bishop Peter Anthony Libasci, former pastor of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, does the honors in what is becoming an unforgettable Long Island holiday tradition.
The festivities continue on Sunday, November 27, with the lighthouse decorated for the season and everyone awaiting the arrival of Santa Claus. Hot cider and snacks will be served, children can take pony rides, the Gift Shop will be opening for holiday shopping, and everyone will be smiling for photos with jolly old St. Nick. Admission to the museum is free during this event (but the tower climb will be closed).
