Montauk‘s Music to Know Festival lineup continues to heat up, adding U.K. electro-folk pop sensation Ellie Goulding to the already stacked list of performers.
Goulding’s popularity abroad has soared over the last year-plus. Her 2010 debut album, “Lights” opened at No. 1 on the U.K. Album Chart, becoming a top seller for the year. She has been featured on Rolling Stone’s Hotlist for 2011, followed by performances at Coachella and on “Saturday Night Live” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
But the singer/songwriter’s big career-maker came when she was asked by Kate Middleton at the highly publicized Royal Wedding in April. Middleton told the press that Goudling was her favorite artist.
“Ellie Goulding defines “Music to Know” and we are delighted that she is joining our outstanding roster of bands at the Music To Know Festival,” said MTK co-founder Chris Jones. “Hugely talented, the energy of Ellie’s live performance takes her spot-on delivery to another level. When she whips out a pair of drumsticks to perform a killer drum solo, the atmosphere is electric.”
Goulding will join a lineup that will appear as follows:
Saturday August 13: VAMPIRE WEEKEND, Matt & Kim, Ellie Goulding, Tame Impala, M. Ward, Tom Tom Club, We Are Scientists, Francis and the Lights, Suddyn, and Nicos Gun.
Sunday, August 14: BRIGHT EYES, Cold War Kids, Chromeo, Ra Ra Riot, Dawes, Fitz and the Tantrums, The Naked and Famous, The Limousines, and the Young Empires.
In addition to the weekend package rates, MTK announced that a limited amount of Single Day tickets are on sale for $110.00. Two Day tickets are also available for $195. Two Day VIP passes can be purchased for $645. The festival is offering a limited time 15% discount, available from Thursday, June 23rd to Sunday, June 26th.
