June nights are alive with sounds—a beautiful chorus comprising the voices of many animals, including birds, frogs and insects. The field behind the museum is especially rich in sounds, as it contains both open and forested ponds, favored breeding habitats for animals such as Bullfrogs, Green Frogs and Gray Treefrogs. With luck, you may hear the calls of late Spring Peepers, and of two native toads, Fowler’s and the elusive Eastern Spadefoot Toad. First you’ll listen to a short presentation of the sounds you might hear and then venture go outdoors, on the museum’ s deck, to listen to the chorus of the night. A great night for adults and children alike. *Reservations are required for all walks, workshops, and programs* There is no charge for SoFo Members (unless otherwise stated); Non-members $7 per adult; $5 per child. Fees include admission to the museum on the day of the program.
