Annual Egg Hunt

Children up to age 8 are invited to join the fun with an “eggs-stravagant” story followed by the annual Egg Hunt. The Egg Hunt is the Saturday of the weekend before Easter with a rain date of the following Saturday to ensure that everyone can enjoy the event outdoors on the library’s beautiful back lawn, as it is meant to be. The Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce is proud to host their 16th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on the Great Lawn in Westhampton Beach. Children will search for over 6,000 eggs and other prizes. The Peconic Land Trust’s Annual Lecture Series continues with a presentation by Scot Medbury, President of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Mr. Medbury will present “Green Garden, Green City: Modeling Environmental Sustainability and Stewardship at Brooklyn Botanic Garden.” This discussion, in keeping with the Trust’s theme of “sustainability” will explore the topic from the perspective of the director of one of the world’s premier botanic gardens. Mr. Medbury, co-author of San Francisco Botanical Garden: An Introduction to a World of Plants, and numerous scientific and professional journal articles, has been president of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden since 2005 and has been involved in the curation, cultivation and interpretation of botanical collections for more than 30 years.
