Curators Talk: “In Memory of…” An Exhibition of Death & Mourning in Victorian America

Did you know that you should never wear anything new to a funeral, especially shoes—at least if you’re following the superstitions of Victorian times. You’ll learn more about this and other fascinating customs and practices surrounding death and mourning during Victorian times as Bridgehampton Historical Society Curator Julie Green presents a guided tour of their current exhibit. Take part in a great East End New Year’s Tradition: Rick Whalen’s Hither Woods New Year’s Hike along an eight-mile loop amid Hither Woods’ 3,000 acres of unspoiled woods and solitary coastline.
