This Weekend in the Hamptons: St. Patrick’s Day Parades, Art Openings and More

The St. Patrick’s Day celebration is still going strong on the East End, with not one but two St. Patrick’s Day parades taking to the streets this weekend. Add the green-hued gregariousness to art show openings, jazz performances, seal hikes and more and get ready for another great weekend in the Hamptons.

“Art at Home” at Pritam & Eames

Friday-Saturday, March 23-24, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Pritam & Eames, 27 Race Lane, East Hampton Village

The work of three East End artists—Linda Capello’s figure drawings in conté crayon and charcoal, Aubrey Grainger’s landscape paintings in oil, and Karen Kluglein’s botanical studies and still lifes in watercolor over vellum and paper—is on display in “Art at Home,” a show opening at the East Hampton gallery on March 23.

Hampton Bays St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Saturday, March 24, 11 a.m.–3 p.m., Village of Hampton Bays, Ponquogue Ave. to West Main St.

The St. Patrick’s Day spirit is still going strong as Grand Marshall George Skidmore leads the celebration from Hampton Bays Elementary School on Ponquogue Ave. to Montuak Highway and west to the reviewing stand and ending in the Hampton Atrium parking lot.

 A Brief History of the East End of the LIRR

Railroad Museum, 440 4th St., Greenport

All aboard! From the Montauk Line from Speonk, the Main Line from Ronkonkoma to Greenport and the “Third Line” Port Jefferson to Wading River, railroad historian Edward M. Koehler Jr. gives a talk and slide show about the Long Island Rail Road on the North and South Forks in the 1970s.

Seal Hike in Montauk

Put on your hiking shoes and meet at the Montauk Light House Concession building for a magical interaction with nature at The EndThere is limited space. 50th Annual Montauk St. Patrick’s Day Parade 

Sunday, March 25, 10 a.m., Montauk Village, Edgemere Road to Main Street

Grand Marshal Mickey Valcich leads the fun at the second largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in all of New York. Clam chowder and plenty of green will abound!
