Here is a kind letter from one of our customers after Hurricane Irene:
“I thought you would be interested in seeing some photos of how well your shutters protected our house during Tropical Storm Irene. The west end of Cosey Beach Ave sustained the most severe damage in the state during that storm. In a very small section of beachfront 25 homes were totally destroyed (4 or 5 fell into Long Island Sound) and another 20 are inhabitable. We were very fortunate in that our house was remolded and an addition was added 5 years ago and built to FEMA codes. With that said, we still lost a seawall, sidewalks, exterior garage, deck rails and basement area, etc. I have attached some photos so you will see for yourself how fortunate we were.”
“Your shutters held strong. To keep them even more secure we used felt furniture bumpers against the bottom of each and used heavy tie bands to hold them in place for additional protection. We also attached the tie bands to the interior window sills with very small nails. Your locks held well, no problems. The paint on the shutters looked great after the storm. After the storm everyone in the neighborhood and all visitors referred to our home as “The House With The Black Shutters”. Even the FEMA staff and other city and government officials were using that term.”
“I just wanted to let you know we appreciate the excellent quality and craftsmanship that went into the making the shutters.”
