Cyber Monday has arrived in the Hamptons—and everywhere else, for that matter.
According to legend, the world was introduced to the term Cyber Monday on November 28, 2005 in a Shop.org press release that presciently stated “‘Cyber Monday’ Quickly Becoming One of the Biggest Online Shopping Days of the Year.” Those folks sure knew what they were talking about—last year it was reported that $1028M was spent online on Cyber Monday—the highest spending day of 2010— and this year might be even better.
But online holiday shopping isn’t just for Cyber Monday anymore. According to ComScore, U.S. shoppers have spent $12.7 billion online during the 2011 holiday season thus far (that’s up 15% compared to 2010), with $816 million in U.S. online sales coming on Black Friday.
Of course, just because everyone else is shopping online today doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take advantage of the incredible weather and get out there and shop the Hamptons. And our online holiday shopping guide is a great place to start—on Cyber Monday and every other day this holiday season!
