The Parents Television Council does not like Hamptons resident Howard Stern starring on the television show, “America’s Got Talent” and has sent a letter to NBC urging them to not buy ads on the show.

The PTC states in the letter that Howard Stern is only an expert at “looking at insecure, naked young women and telling them whether or not they were hot enough to pose for Playboy.”

The letter was sent to 91 advertisers.

Further parts of the letter read, “There can be and there must be, a presumption that Mr. Stern will only continue to conduct himself in a precisely the same manner as he has done for decades. Unless and until his conduct consistently reflects and respects the time, place and manner of an 8 p.m. broadcast television program, we would urge you and your advertising agency to consider alternate network television programming for your media dollars.”

Katie Lee’s Novel in Paperback May 29

Katie Lee’s debut novel, Groundswell, will be released in paperback on May 29.

Here’s how Amazon describes the book:

Sometimes the biggest ripples come from the smallest events. Like the day that novice PA Emma Guthrie walks into world-famous movie star Garrett Walker’s trailer. When she walks out, she’s on her way to becoming Mrs. Emma Walker, trading her jeans and flip-flops for closets full of Chanel and the start of a successful screenwriting career. But when an incriminating text message throws her marriage into question, Emma flees New York City for a sleepy coastal town in Mexico. Here, she meets gorgeous, California-born Ben, who teaches her about the healing powers of surfing, shows her the joys of the simple life, and opens her up to the possibility of love. An irresistible insider’s glimpse into a glittering world, Katie Lee’s debut novel is a captivating story about how losing everything you thought you wanted can be the first step to finding what you need.

Looks exciting, and it looks like she was inspired by her own life while married to Billy Joel!

“Long Island Noir” Gives Shout Outs To The East End

The book, “Long Island Noir” is available for download onto your Kindle, and is a book of dark fiction short stories that take place on Long Island and one of those dark fiction stories takes place in the Hamptons.

The New York Times writes: Things get out of hand for a teenage girl in Wainscott in Ms. Jones’s story “Home Invasion” after she meets a wild-haired surfer dude from an old-money family, who is described as looking “like a WASP kidnapped by Apaches.”

The ending features a scene in which the girl wields a handgun she was taught to use by her father. The story was based somewhat on a real experience, said Ms. Jones, who lives in Manhattan but spent much of her childhood in Sagaponack.

Yikes! We can’t wait to read it!
