Arden's World

This March in Manhattan, I co-hosted an art auction for the Nest Foundation, an organization that raises awareness for the commercial sexual exploitation of children. Generous artists including Adam McEwen, Elizabeth Peyton, Dash Snow, Dan Colen, Terry Richardson, and Tony Hernandez donated some of their works. As an experimental-film geek, I was partial to a photograph by the Vaseline-loving Matthew Barney. (He's one of my favorite artists. J'adore Cremaster V.) To get the crowd going, I took to the microphone and wailed like a banshee at the party people to get busy bidding on the Barney. The most interesting part of the evening was to see artists purchasing the work of their peers, and who was buying whom. That always fascinates me.
