benefiting the Coalition of Women’s Cancers
at Southampton Hospital
SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y.—The East End community is flying high in anticipation for the 8th Annual Artist Bird House Auction to help benefit the Coalition of Women’s at Southampton Hospital. The auction is scheduled for Saturday, October 13, 5:30 to 8 p.m., at the Peter Marcelle Gallery, located at 2411 Main Street, in Bridgehampton.
Once again, over 80 artists have donated their talents and creativity to help design a one of a kind birdhouse, which will be auctioned off to raise money for the Coalition’s various cancer support programs.
Actress Renee Zellweger, whose close friend was diagnosed with breast cancer, will for the seventh year serve as honorary chair of the event.
The birdhouse auction, which has become one of the major fund-raising events of the Coalition, began several years ago as the brainstorm of East End artist and breast cancer survivor Karyn Mannix.
“We thought last year would be the last year of the birdhouse auction. But due to popular demand, we have returned for our eighth consecutive year. We always hold the auction in October, which is breast health awareness month, in hopes that it will be the perfect reminder for all to get make an appointment with the doctor for your annual health check.” Coalition president Susie Roden adds, “
