Canio’s Cultural Café is pleased to present another in our Master Writers Workshop series. This summer MacArthur Fellow and acclaimed ecologist Carl Safina will lead the workshop. This small-group intensive allows for a rare opportunity to work with a master writer in a supportive and intimate setting
Carl Safina is author of six books and many other writings about how the ocean is changing, including the award winning ong for the Blue Ocean and Eye of the Albatross, as well as The View from Lazy Point: A Natural Year in an Unnatural World He is founding president of the Blue Ocean Institute, and an adjunct professor at Stony Brook University where he is active both in Marine Sciences and as co-chair of the Journalism School’s Center for Communicating Science.
Safina, whose View From Lazy Point: A Natural Year in an Unnatural World just won the 2012 Orion Book Award will discuss universals of writing, some pitfalls, tips, and rules about revising, more.
The workshop will meet on Friday, July 27 from 10 to 3 p.m.
