Dark Horse Restaurant in Riverhead will Host a Slow Food Market Dinner

Featuring thirteen different heirloom recipes prepared by chef Jeff Trujillo and Dee Muma, owner of Dark Horse. The best local, seasonal ingredients will be used in preparing recipes from local settlers and Native Americans. Dee will explain the history and provenance of each dish. The local theme will continue with libations from Greenport Harbor Brewery, Raphael and Martha Clara Vineyards.

Dark Horse’s Executive Chef, Jeffrey Trujillo, is a CIA graduate and a native Long Islander. Jeff has cooked from Texas to NYC to eastern Long Island during his 25-year career. Obtaining the best and freshest of everything comes naturally to Chef Jeff; his parents and brother are active in Long Island’s fishing industry.

Location: Dark Horse Restaurant, 1 East Main Street, Riverhead

Cost: $60 per person for Slow Food members. $70 per person for non-members. Price includes open wine bar of local wines!

Tax and gratuity included. You can sign up for membership at the event.

Reservations: Please call 631-208-0072. Reservations will be taken with your credit card. A portion of the proceeds from this dinner will go to support the Slow Food educational school gardens programs in East End schools.
