East End Chefs at Old Whalers’ with Matthew Guiffrida of Muse

East End Chefs at Old Whalers’, a series of cooking classes now in its third year, will welcome a Sag Harbor newcomer, Matthew Guiffrida, owner-chef of Muse in the Harbor. Chef Guiffrida’s class will take place on Tuesday, June 26, at 6:30 p.m. Old Whalers’ Church is located at 44 Union Street in Sag Harbor.
Guiffrida, who has been featured at the James Beard House in Manhattan, recently moved his restaurant from Water Mill to Sag Harbor’s Main Street. For the class, he will prepare jumbo sea scallops with artichoke hummus, penne pasta with jumbo shrimp and a “healthier” Alfredo sauce, roasted fennel and tomato orzo, and a special dessert. Wine and water will be served throughout the evening.
The cost is $30, to be paid at the door by cash or check. Space is limited. Reserve in advance by calling Lillian Woudsma at 631-553-6515. Proceeds benefit the Community House Fund at Old Whalers’, established to improve and maintain the facilities used by many community groups that serve several hundred people each week. Contributions to the Community House Fund are tax deductible.
