HAMPTON THEATRE COMPANY HOLDS AUDITIONS FOR “HOW THE OTHER HALF LOVES”
06:00 pm - 08:00 pm
Quogue Community Hall, Quogue,
The Hampton Theatre Company will hold open auditions for “How The Other Half Loves,” Alan Ayckbourn’s hilarious comedy about an extra-marital dalliance that leads to a cascade of confusion. Auditions are Sunday and Monday, March 24 and 25, from 6-8 p.m. at the Quogue Community Hall on Jessup Avenue in Quogue. Both union and non-union actors are invited to attend.
HTC is seeking actors for the roles of: BOB PHILLIPS (30s), an office Romeo fond of the drink and tormenting his wife; TERESA PHILLIPS (early 30s), Bob’s intense, stressed and absent-minded wife; WILLIAM DETWEILER (30s), an eager to please and rather boring little accountant; and MARY DETWEILER (early 30s), William’s very shy and ill-at-ease wife. (The two older roles have been cast.) “How The Other Half Loves” is Ayckbourn’s only play adapted for the American stage, so no British accents are needed.
Rehearsals for “How The Other Half Loves” begin in mid-April, with performances running from May 23 through June 9, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons, at the Quogue Community Hall. Diana Marbury directs.
Readings will be from the script. No monologue or appointment is necessary. For more information, contact hamptontheatre@optonline.net or 631-878-4376. Information about the theater company can be found on the company’s web site, www.hamptontheatre.org. Anyone unable to attend the scheduled audition times, but who would like to read, should contact the company and an alternate time will be arranged if possible. Local housing is available for out-of-town actors. Special Appearance contract for Equity actors, if applicable.
