HITCHCOCK WEEKEND AT BAY STREET THEATRE

The Picture Show at Bay Street Theatre, sponsored by Peconic Landing continues with classic films this winter and spring. All films start at 8 pm. Tickets are $7 at the door and include a small box of popcorn. Friday, March 22 – Stage Fright (1950)

Jonathan Cooper is wanted by the police who suspect him of killing his lover’s husband. His friend Eve Gill offers to hide him and Jonathan explains to her that his lover, actress Charlotte Inwood is the real murderer. Eve decides to investigate for herself, but when she meets the detective in charge of the case, she starts to fall in love. Starring Marlene Dietrich, Jane Wyman, and Richard Todd. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

Saturday, March 23 – To Catch a Thief (1955)

American expatriate John Robie living in high style on the Riviera is a retired cat burglar. He must find out who a copycat is to keep a new wave of jewel thefts from being pinned on him. High on list of prime victims is Jessie Stevens, in Europe to help daughter Frances find a suitable husband. Lloyds of London insurance agent is using a thief to catch a thief. Take an especially close look at scene where Robie gets Jessie’s attention, dropping an expensive casino chip down décolletage of French roulette player. Starring Cary Grant and Grace Kelly. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock.
