Lautaro Cuttica | Frank Illusions Opening Reception at Tripoli Gallery
05:00 pm - 05:00 pm
Tripoli Gallery, 30 Jobs Lane, Southampton, NY. 11968.
Tripoli Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of new paintings by Lautaro Cuttica. The Exhibition, entitled Frank Illusions, will be presented at the Tripoli Gallery, 30 Jobs Lane, Southampton, New York, from May 26th through June 18th, 2012.
In an exponentially evolving art world, one that is swiftly and continually affected by new mediums and technological advancements, Lautaro Cuttica is ardent in his expression of contemporary existential conditions through the ancient medium of painting.
“A painting is really the first form of virtual reality, a two-dimensional illusionary plane that implies fictitious space and color; for me there is nothing more radical than that.” says Cuttica.
Born in 1987, in Buenos Aires, Lautaro Cuttica moved with his family to Brooklyn in 1996. There, he attended a public middle school and then received a scholarship to a Rudolf Steiner high school. In 2005, he was accepted to both the Art and Architecture Schools at the Cooper Union. He decided to study architecture, (B. Arch. 2011) a field that he was unfamiliar with, in order to get the most out of his studies as well as to bring a new dynamic to his painting. He spends his summers in East Hampton.
“I am always excited to see a painter that has the freedom of imagination and the skill of a craftsman and it gives me great pleasure to present Lautaro Cuttica’s first solo exhibition” Says gallery owner Tripoli Patterson
The exhibition will open with a reception for the artist on Saturday, May 26th, from 5 to 8 pm, at the Tripoli Gallery, 30 Jobs Lane, Southampton.
