Music For Montauk, continues the celebration of the 21st anniversary of its concert series presenting Freddie Bryant and the Melting Pot Jazz Sextet on Saturday December 1, 2012 at 7:00 PM at the Montauk School, South Dorset Road, Montauk,
Freddie Bryant, virtuoso Jazz Guitarist, has assembled a group of New York’s finest musicians to present a program of U.S., Brazilian and Latin songs for this holiday
concert. The cultural mix of the group and the repertoire expresses the inter-cultural aspects of modern jazz from American roots of jazz that have traversed the globe..
Freddie Bryant combines his jazz background with multiple world rhythms and a grounding in the Classical/Spanish guitar. The Melting Pot Jazz Sextet features vocals, flute/sax, acoustic bass, percussion and guitar. Christelle Durandy, vocalist, is a native of France who sings in many languages. Jennifer Vincent, acoustic bass and Steve Wilson, flute/sax, have played with many jazz greats and the percussionists have performed with artists from Sting to Yo-Yo Ma.
The program will include familiar and exotic standards and holiday themes from around the world.
Music For Montauk is an organization of Montauk and East Hampton residents which presents an ongoing series of free, high quality music programs for the Montauk community and its neighboring villages.
