05:00 pm
Canio's Books, Sag Harbor ,
Canio’s Cultural Cafe will host Voluntary Simplicity: a five-week community discussion course, open to all. The course features readings and thought-provoking discussion questions that address the distractions of modern society that keep us from caring for ourselves, our relationships, and our environment. Participants will explore the material and psychological distractions that prevent us from caring for the earth. Readings will focus on the connection between our lifestyle choices and the condition of the earth.
This is the second in a series of discussion courses offered by Canio’s Cultural Cafe (CCC) and designed by the Northwest Earth Institute. In summer 2012, the CCC offered Reconnecting with Earth. Voluntary Simplicity begins Tuesday, January 29 at 5 p.m. at Canio’s Books. 290 Main Street. A $35. registration fee is requested to cover the cost of reading materials. Please contact the shop to register and for more information. Call 725-4926.
