NYS Senate Debate Hosted by League of Women Voters

Two weeks before the general election on Tuesday, November 6, the League of Women Voters of the Hamptons is holding two more debates to educate voters on the issues.
The first is a NYS Senate debate between Bridget Fleming (D) and State Senator Kenneth LaValle (R) on Monday, October 22, at 7 p.m. at the East Hampton Firehouse on Cedar and North Main Streets. State Assemblyman Fred Thiele, Jr. (I), who is unopposed in his race, will be introduced.
The debate consists of the candidates making timed opening and closing statements and answering questions posed by the League, the press and the audience. Debate organizer is LWVH voter services chair Anne Marshall; moderator will be Carol Mellor of the League.
The debate is being videotaped by East Hampton Town’s LTV for later viewing on Channel 20.
The League’s final debate is a U.S. Congressional debate between Randy Altschuler (R) and Congressman Timothy Bishop (D) on Thursday, October 25, 7 p.m. at Westhampton Beach High School, 49 Lilac Road.
This debate, co-sponsored by the Press News and Times/Review News Groups, will also consist of the candidates making timed opening and closing statements and answering questions posed by the League, the press and the audience. Debates organizer and moderator is the League’s voter services chair Anne Marshall. The debate will be taped and aired by Southampton Town’s SEA-TV, Channel 22.
