There is a picturesque little Episcopal chapel on Long Island’s sea-washed shore, at Southampton. It stands amid the sand dunes with the wild, tossing Atlantic on one side and a peaceful fresh-water lake on the other. There in the Summer time the colony of wealthy people who find enjoyment in staid old Southampton worship (New York Times, 1894).”
